FRAEN AMD’s 6405-15xx stepper motors use a patented electromagnetic circuit design
and is intended for use within an instrument cluster to drive a gage indicator needle.
A two-phase motor with a 90-degree shift between phases, it possesses a permanent magnet
in the rotor that features 5 pole pairs around its perimeter, equally spaced at 36 degrees.
The motor uses two 6:1 gear reductions to achieve an overall reduction of 36:1 from the rotor
to the output shaft.
